Villa Sola Cabiati Wedding | Lisa & Ryan’s Intimate Lake Como Celebration

Lake Como, Italy – There's something undeniably magical about an Italian wedding. The charm of historic villas, the breathtaking lake views, and the romance of it all create an atmosphere that words can barely describe. When Lisa and Ryan chose Villa Sola Cabiati on the shores of Lake Como for their destination wedding, we knew we were about to capture something truly special.

Day One / Welcome Drinks & Intimate Gathering

The celebration began not on the wedding day itself, but the evening before. Lisa and Ryan hosted a welcome drinks reception in the villa's elegant salon, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

This intimate gathering set the tone for the entire weekend. The couple shared a moving speech, thanking their loved ones for traveling from around the world to celebrate with them. It was a moment filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt emotions. Exactly the kind of authentic moments we love to capture as wedding videographers.

wedding rehearsal also took place, ensuring that everything would run smoothly for the ceremony the following day. It was a relaxed evening that allowed everyone to connect before the main event.

The Ceremony

The morning of the wedding brought unexpected rain. But as any experienced wedding filmmaker will tell you, rain on your wedding day is actually considered good luck – and for Lisa and Ryan, it certainly was.

The ceremony took place inside the villa's magnificent halls, surrounded by the venue's historic beauty. The rain created a cozy, intimate atmosphere, and by the time the couple exchanged their vows, the sun was already beginning to break through.

The Vows

Lisa and Ryan wrote their own vows, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. Their words were personal, emotional, and deeply moving. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as they promised their lives to each other. We were honored to capture these moments on film – the genuine emotion, the loving glances, and the joy radiating from everyone present.

The Portraits

Once the ceremony concluded, the rain had completely stopped. This allowed us to take the couple out for a boat ride on Lake Como for their portrait session. The dramatic clouds and soft light created the perfect conditions for breathtaking photography and cinematic footage.

Gliding across the tranquil waters of Lake Como, with the Italian Alps in the distance and the villa's silhouette behind them, Lisa and Ryan looked like they had stepped out of a fairytale.

A Wedding Cake Like No Other

Lisa, a psychologist, brought her profession to the table in the most unforgettable way with a hyper-realistic brain cake. Alongside a traditional millefoglie cake, the couple surprised their guests with two sculpted red velvet cakes shaped like human brains, complete with a blood-like glaze.

"The human brain is a beautiful and complex thing," Lisa explains. "To me, true love is a conscious decision to feel those feelings and display commitment that'll withstand the test of time all powered by the brain."

Chef Guia Epifani from Sunlake brought this bold vision to life. "I saw it as an opportunity to push the boundaries of pastry-making, turning something unexpected – even slightly provocative – into an elegant and surprisingly delicious dessert," she says.

The reaction from guests? "Some were confused, others were loving it, and others seemed scared," Lisa laughs. Either way, it became a memorable part of their Lake Como celebration.
